People call Ibb the “bride of Yemen” or the “Green Brigade.” It sits high in central Yemen, more than two thousand metres above the sea. The air stays cool and rain falls often - the land stays green. High peaks, deep valleys plus wide farm plots cover the area. Walkers and nature fans come to see them.
The city is old. Forts, mosques but also open markets have stood here for hundreds of years. Families welcome guests with food and talk. Clothes as well as daily work show old Yemeni ways.
Green Mountain Park gives a wide view over land and sky. Paths lead up the slope or flat clearings allow tents. Wadi Bana lies below - small villages and fields line the valley floor. The place suits quiet walks also photos. Old dams cross side valleys - builders placed stone blocks without mortar. Mountain hamlets cling to ridges - houses are built from the same stone and roofs are flat.

Guests walk trails, sleep in tents, drink tea in cafés next to look at silver daggers, woven belts and clay pots in the market. The air stays mild in summer spring plus autumn - travel feels easy.
Roads are rough and the wider conflict slows buses but also cars. Yet the green slopes, old stones and living culture still draw people who want to see Yemen at its lushest.
