That's a lot of nonsense, isn't it? How can someone possibly become an expert in just 9 months?
عرض النقاط الرئيسية
That's what I thought at first. But everything changed when I tried it myself.
Today, you'll learn how you can become an expert in record time, making people have no choice but to notice you.
You can't focus on 5 things at once. You need to give 100% attention to just one topic.
The problem most people face is they want to be general experts to reach a wider audience. But it doesn't work that way. People seek specialized experts who can offer specific help. Yes, you'll have fewer clients, but each client will be significantly more valuable. When people see you as the specialized expert who can assist them, you'll be able to demand higher rates.

You've probably already heard about niche advice, but merely focusing on a niche isn't enough. You need to focus on something specialized intensely. So, what do I mean by that?
Well, instead of becoming a logo designer for small businesses, become a logo designer for small restaurants. Better yet, be a logo designer for small Asian restaurants. The aim of this exercise is to position yourself uniquely so that you stand out among a group of experts—becoming a completely different expert in the consumer's mind.
You've selected a very specific topic to focus on for the next nine months (and will do nothing else). It's time to prepare a list of all the skills you need to acquire, then a list of resources you'll use to acquire those skills—hence the name "dual-side."
So list all the required skills on one side of your paper. Avoid going overboard and listing skills you don't need. Once the nine-month period is over, you can go ahead and expand your general knowledge.
So, once you have the skills you need listed, it's time to find all the resources needed to acquire those skills. Your list should include…
Thought leaders and experts in your field to learn from and connect with.
Books on your subject.
Relevant podcasts.
Blogs that write about your topic.
Courses taught by industry experts.
Videos/YouTube channels.
Researchers publishing the latest findings in your specialization area.
This dual-side list is essential during at least the first nine months. To be the go-to expert, you must be updated with the latest trends. So make sure to refresh your list every month.
Reading + Experimenting = Learning. This is the learning formula. You read and apply what you've learned, then come up with unique results that help you develop your own perspective on the subject. Your results will always be unique in some way, even if just slightly. This uniqueness makes you stand out as an expert.
For example, let's say you want to be a nutrition expert. You'll encounter different research, try different diets on different people, and get different results. Of course, it might not be a huge difference, but even a subtle one helps you develop a unique outlook.
Read, listen, and watch everything on your expert learning list. Apply what you've learned right away. Ideally, you want to split your day between consuming knowledge and applying it. The proportion will depend on the field you're in. If you want to be an athlete, practicing will take up 90% of your day, while reading will be 10%.
On the other hand, a nutritionist will spend more time reading than applying. But, in both cases, at the start, you'll spend more time than applying, so don't be afraid to shift the proportion.
Most importantly, you need to schedule everything in your calendar and plan ahead. If it's not on the calendar, it won't get done. If you want to achieve all this in 9 months, it means devoting 40 to 100 hours a week to this learning process. Yes, no one said it would be easy.
Just because you're an expert doesn't mean people will see you as one. You need to get out there and start teaching people. When you become a teacher to the public, you'll become their expert, and they'll look up to you.
How do you teach? The most popular methods are…
Regularly publish guest articles on famous blogs in your specialty. (Try submitting one guest post a week).
Answer questions in your field on Quora. (Provide your in-depth unique insights to one question daily).
Dive deep into a popular topic by publishing a book. (You can write the book based on your most popular blog posts or Quora answers).
In other words, just help people get what they want and solve their problems. Don't do this after 9 months; do it while learning... share your results and case studies along the way.
Just teaching isn't enough. You need to be everywhere. For instance, if you’re a nutritionist, you need to be writing for every popular niche blog. Readers interested in nutrition will read more than one blog. And if they see you everywhere they go... they’ll have no choice but to notice you. Don’t forget that writing for a popular blog gives you credibility.
Just keep at it, and soon you'll be the go-to expert in your field. You have no excuse now. You have the steps, now it’s time to climb them.
