لهذا السبب، تم إنشاء تطبيق من قبل مجموعة من طلاب الجامعات، والذي يتيح للأشخاص فلترةَ مواعدات محتمَلة قبل معرفة ما إذا كانوا أبناء عمومة من الدرجة الثانية. يُطلق على التطبيق اسم ÍslendingaApp، أو "كتاب الآيسلنديين"، والذي يوفر معلومات عن علم الأنساب الأيسلندي.
في مدينة ريكيافيك الحديثة تمامًا، توجد مدرسة عفاريت تُقدِّم محاضرات وجولات إرشادية حول الأساطير والفولكلور الأيسلندي. ووفقًا للتقاليد، هناك 13 نوعًا مختلفًا من الجان ويعتقد أكثر من 60% من الآيسلنديين أنهم حقيقيون!
في معظم الدول الاسكندنافية، يتم إخراج الأطفال على عجلات لأخذ قيلولة في الهواء الطلق، وأيسلندا ليست استثناءً. يعتقد الآباء أن الهواء النقي يساعد على درء الأمراض، ويرى بعضُ خبراء النوم أن الهواء البارد يمكن أن يؤدي إلى نوم أعمق.
